Professional situation in the humanist world

It is well known fact, that humanist professions are very popular today. Since school a lot of people believe this work to be very absorbing. With such an point of view they are educated in their families, go to high school, to a institute and at last they begin rearing their own children that way. Deadlock.
Why is it so? What do make people think that technological sciences have lost their popularity?
There are several causes.
First of all present technology has got such a high extent of development that society is capable of using it without having specialized technical education. Consequently there is no sense for further dissemination of technological knowledge. Humanits use starts dominating in all aspects of life.
second it is an actual fact that we are in the consumer society. People in it don’t want to work with their hands. They like to depict everything and consume things, but not to make something by themselves. Of course this phenomenon does not affect positively on dissemination of engineering knowledge. People are simply not concerned with it.
In the third place is the fact that the resource base has achieved such a level of devastation that we often have no place for work after studying the theory.
Finally a very important thing is the policy of the state. What professions does it popularize as asked-for today? We can easily learn it by watching our mass-media. The internet, the television, the radio, the press – what professions do they popularize today? It is easy to prove that they are full of humanist images. Mass-media display us easy way of life in which there is no place for hard-work, but there are a lot of talks, beautiful scenes and fantasies.
What do we have as a after all?
Lack of trained workers in the engineering sphere. There are a lot of philosophers, lawyers, artists, singers, politicians, professors but a few people, able to operate for example a jointer planer. This will lead to a difficult situation when we will be lacking very simple things which are very important for our comfortable way of living.
Besides that our education system is totally ruined. There is no technical literature of high quality – it is either sold or lost. There is no experienced lecturers able to train worthy personnel working in technical spheres.
Such is the picture. Sad, isn’t it?
Then, there is an adequate question: what should our state do in order to correct the situation? I think that there are several actions to be taken. firstly our education system should change its attitude towards technical professions and specialities and theirs perspectives. state should apply efforts in order to promote engineering specialities in mass-media.
And of course, the best way to preserve technical professions is to assign enough means both for the payment for the people who work in this sphere and to the creating an adequate resource base.
